The authors compute the normal form for the Hamiltonian of the restricted three body problem at the triangular libration point of Lagrange. They carry the computation two orders higher in order to establish the stability of this point in the critical cases which were previously omitted. They give a simple proof of a theorem of \textit{V. I. Arnold} [Dokl. Akad. Nauk. SSSR 137, 255-257 (1961; Zbl 0135.426)] which is used to prove the stability of a critical point in critical cases.
