On the eigenvalues of the electrostatic integral operator (Q1076276): Difference between revisions

Explicit calculation of the eigenvalues of the electrostatic integral operator is illustrated for the case of the surface of a prolate spheroid. It is proven that these eigenvalues also lie in the interval [- 1,0], like in the classical case of a sphere.
