The paper is devoted to the formulation of continuum mechanics in the framework of the special theory of relativity. The medium considered is taken to be a non-polarised one and the mechanical stress tensor is symmetric. The generalization of the equations of classical mechanics is attained by adjoining to the energy, momentum and mass, those equations due to thermal energy and heat conduction in the medium.
