A method is described for the singular two point boundary value problem \(y''+(a/x)y'+f(x,y)=0\), \(y'(0)=0\), \(y(1)=A\) and is shown to be \(O(h^ 2)\) convergent for all \(\alpha\geq 1\). An earlier paper by the first author and \textit{C. Katti} [SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 22, 561-565 (1985; Zbl 0578.65085)] proved this result for the boundary conditions \(y(0)=A\), \(y(1)={\mathcal B}\) with \(\alpha\in (0,1)\).
