Let A be an artin algebra with duality functor D, \(T_ A\) a tilting module over A and \(R:=A\ltimes D(A)\) the trivial ring extension of A by \(D(A)\). Firstly it is shown that \(T\otimes_ AR\) is a tilting module over \(\tilde R:=R/ann_ R(T\otimes R)\) and \(\tilde R\) is isomorphic to the trivial ring extension of A by \(D(t(A))\) where \(t(A)\) means the trace ideal of \(T_ A\) in A (for further results see \textit{J. Miyachi} [Commun. Algebra 13, 1319-1326 (1985; Zbl 0567.16010)]). Secondly the authors study tilting modules of type \(T=(1-e)A\otimes \tau^{-1}(M)\) with \(M\cong top(eA)\) (see also \textit{S. Brenner} and \textit{M. C. R. Butler} [Lect. Notes Math. 832, 103-169 (1980; Zbl 0446.16031)]. They prove that the tilting module \(T\otimes_ AR\) is again of this type and give conditions for \(\tilde R\) and \(End(T\otimes_ AR_ R)\) to be QF-3.
