In this work the authors introduced the notion of Bloch and Néel walls in the description of micropolar elastic crystals by analogy with the domain structure in ferromagnetics and ferroelectrics. By establishing a one-dimensional version of the nonlinear theory of micropolar continua developed by \textit{C. B. Kafadar} and \textit{A. C. Eringen} [ibid. 9, 271- 305 and 307-329 (1971; Zbl 0218.73004)], the authors showed that the dynamics of such walls can be represented by solitary waves, both in microrotation angle and one or two elastic displacements depending as whether a Bloch or Néel wall is considered. It is first shown that the longitudinal displacement is coupled with the angle of microrotation about the axis of propagation. In the second case, they showed that the longitudinal displacement and the transverse displacement component polarized in the plane of microrotation are coupled to the latter. They obtained the exact-closed solutions along with the pseudo dispersion relations. Furthermore, the stability of these solutions are also discussed. This work might be very useful for those researchers working on the propagation of solitary waves.
