The purpose of the contribution is to give conditions for the convexity of a piecewise rational interpolant of type \[ R(x)=[ax^ 2+bx(1-x)+c(1- x)^ 2]/[x^ 2+dx(1-x)+(1-x)^ 2] \] in the case where the data are convex. Two propositions, two lemmas, two theorems and four examples are given.
