A collection of subsets of a topological space is said to be countably weakly uniform if the intersection of any uncountable subcollection contains at most one point. The author considers the class of all spaces having a countably weakly uniform base. This class contains all spaces with a point-countable base and all spaces with a weakly uniform base. If a space has countable tightness (or is a k-space) then any countably weakly uniform base is point-countable in non-isolated points of the space. This observation allows one to prove that in certain theorems the assumption that the space has a point-countable base can be replaced with the assumption that it has a countably weakly uniform base.
