The paper deals with existence and uniqueness theory associated with certain boundary value problems for the nth order nonlinear difference equation \(Py(t-k)=f(t,y(t))\) with \(Py(t-k)=\sum^{n}_{i=0}\alpha_ i(t)y(t-k+i)\) (1\(\leq k\leq n-1\); \(\alpha_ i(t)\) defined for integer values of t satisfying \(\alpha +k\leq t\leq b+k\) \((a<b\) are integers); \((- 1)^ n\alpha_ 0(t)>0\), and f(t,y) is a continuous function of the real variable y). Various theorems are given.
