States of minimal uncertainty and maximal information for position and momentum observables in quantum theory (Q1095362): Difference between revisions

Position and momentum observables are complementary and they satisfy the uncertainty relations. With respect to these coupling properties of position and momentum, states of maximal information and minimal uncertainty are defined. The existence of such states is shown and their basic properties are discussed.
