The author gives an existence theorem for the solution to the initial value problem \(x'=f(t,x)\), \(x(0)=x_ 0\) in a cone of a Banach space. He uses the measure of noncompactness (Kuratowski's) and a fixed point theorem of Daher. A result of Lakshmikantham and Leela is extended.
