Equidistribution schemes, Poisson generators, and adaptive grids (Q1098259): Difference between revisions

It is pointed out that on 2-dimensional domains the generation of grids by equidistribution of a weight function on arcs often yields poor results. The generation of grids via the solution of a system of Poisson equations, on the other hand, has the difficulty that the choice of the source function is not obvious. In this paper equidistribution along arcs is used to suggest source functions for the generation of grids via Poisson equations. The efficacy of the method is illustrated by examples.
