In the paper two asymptotic methods are developed for the study of transporting a heat-conducting fluid through a flexible tube by peristaltic motion of the tube wall. The methods are justified rigorously. For the governing equations the existence of a unique generalized solution is proved if a condition in terms of the Reynolds number and other nondimensional parameters is satisfied.
