Crabgrass, measles, and gypsy moths: An introduction to interaction particle systems (Q1099894): Difference between revisions

The aim of this paper is to explain some of the results about interacting particle systems to readers not being experts in probability theory. The author considers five models: oriented percolation, Richardson's model, a model for the spread of measles (or forest firesö), the contact process and a ``crabgrass model''. For each model several computer pictures are given in order to illustrate how the behaviour of that model depends on the value of a certain parameter.
