The question of the solution of finite difference approximations to multi-dimensional Poisson's equation is treated here. All frequently occurring boundary conditions are considered on a staggered grid where the boundary is located midway between two grid points. In addition the combination of staggered Neumann boundary condition on one side with nonstaggered Dirichlet boundary condition on the other side is considered. This paper describes pre- and postprocessing algorithms used to incorporate the fast Fourier transform into the above problem.
