Trivialization of fans in division algebras (Q1102988): Difference between revisions

The celebrated theorem of \textit{L. Bröcker} on the trivialization of fans in orderable fields [Math. Z. 151, 149-163 (1976; Zbl 0319.12102)] is carried over to orderable nonassociative division algebras: For any fan F there is a valuation v fully compatible with F such that the pushdown of F under the place associated to v is a trivial fan.
