The authors consider support theorems for the Radon transform \[ R_{\mu}f(w,p)=\int_{H(w,p)}f(x)\mu (x,w)dx_ H, \] where H(w,p) denotes the hyperplane \(x,w=p\), \(x\in R^ n\), \(w\in S^{n-1}\), \(dx_ H\) is the Lebesgue measure on the hyperplane and \(\mu\) a \(C^{\infty}\) function on \(R^ n\times S^{n-1}\). If \(\mu\) is in addition a strictly positive real analytic function on \(R^ n\times S^{n-1}\) that is even in w such that \(R_{\mu}f=0\) for \(p>p_ 0\) and whenever w belongs to an open neighbourhood of \(w_ 0\in S^{n-1}\) then the authors prove that \(f=0\) for \(x\cdot w>p_ 0\). Two other related results are also established. The operator \(R_{\mu}\) is extended continuously to \(\epsilon\) '(R n) by continuity of its adjoint on \(C^{\infty}\) and all three results hold for \(f\in \epsilon'(R^ n)\).
