On p. 100 in his book ``Representations of Real Numbers by Infinite Series (Lect. Notes Math. 502) (Springer 1976; Zbl 0322.10002) the reviewer stated a conjecture concerning a strong law of large numbers for some function of the digits in a general class of Oppenheim series. The conjecture is supported by a close relation of this function to the digits in Lüroth series. However, the strong law in question is trivial for Lüroth series because the digits are stochastically independent and identically distributed. The author misunderstood the conjecture and proves the strong law in question for the digits in Lüroth expansions by a very complicated method. Consequently, the conjecture of the reviewer remains unsolved.
