    The main result of the article is written as ``dim ker \(R_{\alpha}=Nr(D)\) for sufficiently large \(\alpha\) '' under the following symbols: \(\Delta_+\) \(=\) a finitely connected bounded domain in the plane, \(\Gamma\) \(=\) a Cauchy contour consisting of non-intersecting simple closed contours which form the boundary of \(\Delta_+,\) \(A_ j\) \((j=1,2,...)\) \(=\) a regular analytic \(n\times n\) matrix function on \(\Delta_+,\) \(R_{\alpha}\) \((\alpha =0,\pm 1,\pm 2,...)\) \(=\) the resultant operator of \(A_ 1\) and \(A_ 2\) acting on the Lebesgue space \(L\) \(n_ p(\Gamma)\) \((1<p<\infty)\), and \(N_ r(D)\) \(=\) the number of zeros in \(\Delta_+\) of det D, where D \(=\) a greatest common right divisor of \(A_ 1\) and \(A_ 2.\) The work is based on the study of the so-called Bezout equation \(X_ 1A_ 1+X_ 2A_ 2=B\).
