The main definitions for classes of aging distributions with the monotonous (increasing or decreasing) failure rate and some implications between these classes are considered. The author describes certain new results dealing with criteria of aging in terms of conditional mean remaining life time (MRL). It is possible to construct a distribution function whose mean remaining life is known. The k-order classes of MRL-criteria are discussed. The DHMRLA-class of life distributions developed by the author is equivalent to the HDMRL-class suggested by \textit{J.-H. Cao} and \textit{Y.-H. Wu} [Chin. J. Appl. Probab. Stat. 2, 314-321 (1986; Zbl 0611.62120)].
