The authors consider nonlinear elliptic boundary value problems in the function spaces \(B^ s_{p,q}\) and \(F^ s_{p,q}\) introduced by Peetre-Triebel-Lizorkin. For this purpose they show the ``admissibility'' of these spaces, i.e. the existence of arbitrarily close approximations of the identity on any compact set by continuous maps with finite dimensional range. This property allows the definition of Leray-Schauder degree. Using these concepts the authors prove some existence theorems on the Dirichlet problem for equations of the form \(\Delta u=h(x,u)\) in a bounded smooth domain of \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\). In the opinion of the reviewer these results do not indicate in which respect the spaces \(B^ s_{p,q}\) and \(F^ s_{p,q}\) are superior to more standard spaces when dealing with boundary value problems of the above type.
