The author gives a description of all commuting linear ordinary differential operators of order four and six. An elementary and explicit representation of these commuting pairs of operators which are parametrized by a finite number of parameters and by an arbitrary function is given. In this case of ``rank two'' by Krichever and Novikov the results given in section 2 are equivalent to those of P. G. Grinevich.
