Conditions are found for all solutions of the functional differential equation \[ x''(t)+p(t)f(x(t),\quad x(h(t)))=0,\quad t\geq t_ 0, \] to be oscillatory. The case \(f(x,y)=y\) is considered in particular thus extending the results of \textit{J. Yan} [ibid. 122, 380-384 (1987; Zbl 0626.34077)].
