We study the appearance of stochastic dynamics in two situations. For one-parameter families of maps of the interval \(f_{\mu}\), undergoing an infinite sequence of period-doubling bifurcations, we consider \(\mu \in [\mu_ 0,\mu_ 0+\epsilon]\) beyond Feigenbaum's parameter value \(\mu_ 0\). For a two-parameter family of circle maps \(f_{b,\omega}: x\mapsto x+\omega +(b/2\pi)\sin 2\pi x\), we consider \(b\in [1,1+\epsilon]\), \(\omega\in [0,1]\). In both cases we estimate the relative measure of parameter values corresponding to stochastic behavior.
