The aim of this paper is to describe two families of group-subgroup chains: one leading to tensor Burgers-type differential equations and the other to Korteweg-de Vries equations with an n-th space derivative. In both families maps of Hopf-Cole type appear as transformations intertwining the initial group action to a multiplier realization of a normally extended group, leading to a new differential equation with greater symmetry.
