Discussed are stochastic gradient systems of the form \[ \dot x=f(x)+\sum^{m}_{i=1}(\bar u_ i+v_ iu(t))g_ i(x), \] u(t) dichotomic noise with values \(a>0\), -a, \(\bar u=(\bar u_ 1,...,\bar u_ m)\) bifurcation parameter, and their stationary probability densities \(P_{st}(x;\bar u)\). An integer-valued function \(\chi(\bar u)\) is introduced from which one can read off a) the number of connected components of the support of \(P_{st}(x;\bar u)\) which might be zero, b) bifurcation points.
