Let \(M=X\times_{f_ 1}Y_ 1\times...\times_{f_ k}Y_ k\) be a complete non compact multiply warped product. The \(Y_ i\) are compact and the functions \(f_ i\) are smooth and positive. The author gives analytic and geometric conditions which ensure the Laplacian \(\Delta\) on functions has discrete spectrum.
