    A map T on [0,1] is called piecewise monotonic, if there is a finite partition of [0,1] into intervals, such that T is monotone and continuous on each of the intervals in this partition. If one splits the nonwandering set of the dynamical system ([0,1],T) into maximal topologically transitive subsets, one gets two kinds of T-invariant sets. The first kind has periodic orbits dense, the second kind contains no periodic orbit. The topologically transitive subsets with periodic orbits dense have already been thoroughly investigated. In this paper the topologically transitive subsets which contain no periodic orbits are considered. It is shown that their number is finite and that each of them is minimal and has only finitely many ergodic invariant Borel probability measures.
