An irreducible character of a finite group G is called primitive if it is not induced from any character of a proper subgroup. The authors show that also a multiple of a primitive irreducible character \(\chi\) cannot be induced from a proper subgroup, if G is p-solvable for each prime p dividing \(\chi\) (1). Moreover they give conditions that characters of G are induced from generalized characters of proper subgroups.
