The aim of this paper is the study of two different matching conditions for a spectral method and a finite element method in order to solve a second order elliptic boundary value problem. Both matching conditions are nonconforming. For each of them the authors propose an iterative algorithm to solve the corresponding discrete problem. The numerical analysis of the discrete problem is done and the convergence of the algorithms is proved. The work has a high mathematical level.
