The author proves (Theorem 1 and corollary 1) that in the class of groups without involution, the periodic almost nilpotent \(M_ p\)-groups with a regular handle, and only these, do not satisfy the following condition: every regular handle, together with some of its conjugate, generates an infinite subgroup. The question whether there is an \(M_ p\)-group with a regular handle, containing involutions and with odd prime p which does not satisfy the above condition remains open even in the class of locally finite groups.
