[For part I, cf. ibid. 115, No.3, 375-419 (1988; Zbl 0674.35074).] In this second part, the authors present further results on integrable evolution equations in two space dimensions. Their considerations apply to the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili and Davey-Stewartson equations. A generalization of the arguments of the first part leads to the construction of time-dependent symmetries. Conserved quantities are derived under hypotheses that furnish a substitute for the bi-Hamiltonian structure. They construct an analogue of the ``master-symmetry'' from which the recursion operator can be recovered. A ``reduction procedure'' is also outlined, which derives the equations from certain non-local systems.
