In a previous paper of the same author [ibid. 32, 291-306 (1989; Zbl 0677.94022)] default methods, based on an approximate joint distribution or the extension principle, were used for the calculation of the sum and the product of two discrete fuzzy numbers. This paper discusses the same problems for two continuous fuzzy numbers.
