The author gives explicit necessary and sufficient conditions for \(G^ 2\)-continuity of two adjacent Bézier surface patches with a common boundary edge. Explicit representations of the first order cross-boundary tangent vectors of the two patches are given by using not only the common edge but also the position of the tangent plane in a suitable way. An example for computation of columns of control points for two biquadratic patches is presented.
