The author investigates the set of extreme points of an interval in an ordered vector space. He proves as the main result that this set forms, under natural assumptions, a quantum logic with a rich state space. He also shows that in the result by \textit{G. T. Rüttimann} [Rep. Math. Phys. 21, 213-222 (1985; Zbl 0591.03048)], the orthomodularity condition can be relaxed.
