In Analogie zu einem Resultat über die ``Universalität'' der Riemannschen Zetafunktion [vgl. \textit{S. M. Voronin}, Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 39, 475-486 (1975; Zbl 0315.10037)] beweist der Verf. den folgenden Satz. Es sei \(0<r<1/4\); f(s) sei eine in \(| s| <r\) holomorphe und in \(| s| \leq r\) stetige Funktion. Wenn f(s) in \(| s| <r\) nicht verschwindet, so existiert zu jedem \(\epsilon >0\) ein Charakter \(\chi\) mod \(p^ n_ 0\) mit \[ \max_{| s| \leq r}| f(s)-L(s+3/4,\chi)| <\epsilon. \] Dabei ist \(p_ 0\) eine beliebige aber feste genügend große Primzahl.
