The paper studies the asymptotic behavior as \(t\to \infty\) of the weak solution for a one-dimensional initial-boundary value problem for the nonlinear porous media equation. By using comparison arguments and the Ascoli-Arzela theorem, the weak solution is shown to converge uniformly to its corresponding stationary solution.
