The author studies real analytic Eisenstein series for the Jacobi group which are generalizations of the holomorphic Eisenstein series of Eichler and Zagier. The main result is that these Eisenstein series (associated with \(\Gamma^ J\) where \(\Gamma\) is the modular group) have a meromorphic continuation to the whole s-plane and satisfy a functional equation with respect to \(s\mapsto 1-s\). The key to the proof is a simple relation between the Eisenstein series for \(\Gamma^ J\) and the usual real analytic Eisenstein series on the upper half-plane for \(\Gamma\) and the theta multiplier system. Then the general theory of real analytic Eisenstein series on the upper half-plane gives the result.
