Let f: \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\to {\mathbb{R}}\) be a homogeneous polynomial of degree \(d\geq 3\), let \(X=\{x\in {\mathbb{R}}{\mathbb{P}}^{n-1}| f(x)=0\}\) and let \(X_{\sin g}\) denote a set of singular points in X. Assume that the restricted function \(f| S^{n-1}\) is Morse. Then the number {\#}X\({}_{\sin g}\) is finite. The paper shows that there are mapping \(H_ i: ({\mathbb{R}}^{n+1},0)\to ({\mathbb{R}}^{n+1},0)\), \(i=1,2\), defined in terms of f such that {\#}X\({}_{\sin g}=(\deg (H_ 1)-\deg (H_ 2))/2\), where \(\deg (H_ i)\) denotes the topological degree of the mapping \(x\mapsto H_ i(x)/\| H_ i(x)\|\) from a small sphere cented at the origin to the unit sphere in \({\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}\).
