This paper offers to avoid the disturbing assumption on the interiority of endowments (necessary to ensure the continuity of the budget correspondence and thereby the existence of a competitive equilibrium) by introducing generalized prices, which extend the notion of ``exchange value'' introduced by \textit{D. Gale} [ibid. 3, 205-209 (1976; Zbl 0349.90026)] to economies with production.
