Many researchers try to define fuzzy logic in an axiomatic way. Obviously this is not an easy task to perform since even for classical logic it took several centuries to do so. Since \textit{L. A. Zadeh}'s paper ``Fuzzy sets'' [Inf. Control 8, 338-353 (1965; Zbl 0139.246)] was published, many different approaches to fuzzy logic were introduced. In their paper the authors give an excellent overview of most approaches and outline their new approach in a very clear and concise way. They point out all differences and stress out the ideas behind each step they take to reach the ultimate goal: the completeness of \(\Lambda\)-resolution in fuzzy logic. Each notion is very well defined and the philosophical background and ideas are mentioned. The refreshing style makes the reading easy for specialists and opens a new world to non-specialists. We highly recommend this paper to everybody who is interested in the mathematical foundations of fuzzy logic.
