The forth-order centered compact scheme for convection-diffusion equation is applied to the Navier-Stokes equations in vorticity-stream function form described flow in 2D driven cavity. Point-SOR method and outer iterations were used for solving difference equations, the velocities being calculated using second and forth order approximations. The numerical solutions obtained for Reynolds numbers up to 10,000 are shown to compare well with benchmark solutions and provide high accuracy for relatively coarse grid.
