Simple tangential family germs and perestroikas of their envelopes (Q2490035): Difference between revisions

The author describes perestroikas of envelopes of simple tangential family germs of small codimension under small deformations of the germ among tangential families. The obtained results are related to the classification of simple smooth map germs given by \textit{J. H. Rieger} [J. Lond. Math. Soc. 36, 351--369 (1987; Zbl 0639.58007)], \textit{J. H. Rieger} and \textit{M. A. S. Ruas} [Compos. Math. 79, No. 1, 99--108 (1991; Zbl 0724.58008)], and of simple local projections of surfaces to a plane given by \textit{V. V. Goryunov} [Sib. Math. J. 25, 50--56 (1984; Zbl 0554.58014)]. In a recent paper by the author [Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc. 49, 29--37 (2006; Zbl 1092.58018)] tangential family germs are studied in connection to contact geometry.
