The linear system arising from the three fields formulation of domain decomposition for elliptic problems is considered. The aim of the paper is to implement an asymptotically optimal diagonal preconditioner based on wavelets. A biorthogonal multiresolution analysis (MRA) is presented on the skeleton by introducing an MRA for \(L^2\)(0, 2) and using MRA on the unitary interval. Extensive numerical tests confirm the optimality of the preconditioner.
