Kaplansky's tenth conjecture on the theory of Hopf algebras was that there are only finitely many Hopf algebras of a given finite dimension \(n\) up to isomorphism, over \(k\) algebraically closed of characteristic not dividing \(n\). In the past 10 years, many counterexamples to this conjecture arising from liftings of pointed coradically graded Hopf algebras with finite Abelian groups of grouplikes have appeared. \textit{A. Masuoka} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 129, No. 11, 3185-3192 (2001; Zbl 0985.16026)] has suggested a weakened form of the conjecture, namely that there are only finitely many types of Hopf algebras of a given dimension up to quasi-isomorphism. Two Hopf algebras are called quasi-isomorphic if one is a cocycle deformation of the other or, equivalently, if their categories of comodules are monoidally equivalent. Many of the infinite families of Hopf algebras of a given finite odd dimension which provide counterexamples to Kaplansky's conjecture have already been shown to consist of Hopf algebras which are quasi-isomorphic. In this paper, the author proves that the Masuoka modified conjecture holds for pointed Hopf algebras of odd dimension defined from linking data of finite Cartan type as described by \textit{N. Andruskiewitsch} and \textit{H.-J. Schneider} [Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér., IV. Sér. 35, No. 1, 1-26 (2002; Zbl 1007.16028)] in the following situations: (i) the Hopf algebra arises from a linking datum with no root vector parameters, (ii) the Hopf algebra arises from a linking datum with Cartan type \(A_n\) or where the Dynkin diagram is a union of \(A_n\)'s.
