This paper is concerned with the permanence of a dispersal single population model, which has significiant biological sense and is described by a delay differential equation of Lotka-Volterra type. Several permanence results of the model are proved. They imply that the existence of food-rich patches, proper dispersions among the patches and the connection of food-rich patches with food-poor patches could ensure the permanence of the single species.
