On construction of multivariate wavelets with vanishing moments (Q2491723): Difference between revisions

This paper addresses the construction of multivariate biorthogonal wavelets with vanishing moments. The class of interpolatory masks providing vanishing moments is also described. An example is provided to illustrate the construction proposed in this paper. The construction of wavelet functions for a class of interpolatory masks is also discussed in this paper. For any given multivariate interpolatory mask, the construction of dual masks with any preassigned order of sum rules (that is, vanishing moments of the wavelet functions) has been completely obtained by the CBC (coset by coset) algorithm proposed in [\textit{B. Han}, SIAM J. Math. Anal. 31, No.~2, 274--304 (2000; Zbl 0943.65163)]. For any given matrix mask with a dilation matrix, the construction of all dual matrix masks with arbitrary orders of sum rules/vanishing moments has been answered in [\textit{B. Han}, J. Approximation Theory 110, No.~1, 18--53 (2001; Zbl 0986.42020)]. However, the construction of the associated high-pass wavelet filters or wavelet functions has not been addressed in the above two papers.
