The author extends to the paracomplex setting the notion of \(tt^*\)-bundle, previously introduced in complex geometry. The main results clarify the relation between these bundles and pluriharmonic maps. Paracomplex geometry has a long history, starting with [\textit{P. Libermann}, C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris 234, 2517--2519 (1952; Zbl 0046.15601)]. A good survey paper is [\textit{V. Cruceanu, P. Fortuny, P. M. Gadea}, Rocky Mt. J. Math. 26, No. 1, 83--115 (1996; Zbl 0856.53049)]. It is a pity that the author does not refer to any of the old or newer papers in the field.
