For \[ x''(t)+px''(t-1)=qx\left(2\left[\frac{x+1}{2}\right]\right)+f(t) \tag{*} \] with \(f:\mathbb{R} \to\mathbb{R}\) almost-periodic and a suitable definition of ``\(x\) is a weak solution on \(\mathbb{R}\)'', and \(p,q\) real constants, it is shown that if \(|p|\neq 1\) and \(q\neq 4(p-1)\), than the corresponding difference equation has a unique almost-periodic solution, and with this (*) has a unique corresponding almost-periodic weak solution. Examples show that for \(q=4(p-1)\), several almost-periodic weak solutions can exist. For related results see also \textit{A. Dads} and \textit{Lhachimi} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 64, No. 6 (A), 1307--1324 (2006; Zbl 1109.34055)].
