Non-existence of certain 3-structures (Q2495315): Difference between revisions

\textit{M. M. Tripathi} and \textit{K. D. Singh} in [Demonstr. Math. 29, No. 2, 413--426 (1996; Zbl 0896.53041)] introduced the notion of an \(\varepsilon\)-framed structure \((\varepsilon=\pm 1)\) \((f,\xi_\alpha, \eta^\alpha)\) over an \(n\)-dimensional differentiable manifold \(M\) as a non-null \((1, 1\))-tensor field \(f\) of constant rank, satisfying \(f^3-\varepsilon f= 0\), such that \(f(\xi_\alpha)= 0\), \(f^2= \varepsilon(I- \eta^\alpha\otimes \xi_\alpha)\), \(\xi_1, \xi_2,\dots, \xi_r\), are \(r\) linearly independent vector fields in which is spanned the one of the complementary distributions associated with \(f\) and \(\eta^1,\eta^2,\dots, \eta^r\), are \(r\) 1-forms. The paper under review, prolongates many 3-structures such as almost quaternion, almost contact, hyper-\(f\)-structure, almost product, almost hypercomplex, almost quaternionic \(f\)-structure, almost paracontact, etc. by indroducing the notion of \(\varepsilon\)-framed 3-structure. The existence of a Riemannian metric adapted to such structures is proved and certain characteristic examples are given. Moreover, the non-existence of \(\varepsilon\)-framed metric 3-structures that are \(P\)-Sasakian with the three structures simultaneously is pointed out. Additionally it is proved, that no \(\varepsilon\)-framed metric 3-structure is an \(S\)-structure with three ones. Finally, the non-existence of proper trans-Sasakian almost contact 3-structures is provided.
